Design Wall Monday

The Continuing Saga of Christmas Stars...

I got 15 more stars assembled this week. That makes a total of 55 stars! Another 17 to go and I will be finished with them. Seems like it will never end...

I bought another piece of fabric this week. I found it at Walmart on Clearance--2 yards for $1.50.
I knew I could use it as backing for a quilt I will make with these blocks. I found them on clearance a few years ago.
I like to keep a couple of baby quilts in the house; husband has taken a couple to work for expecting moms in his office.

Purchase stats for the year:
Fabric: 4.67 yards
Cost: $4.63

Design Wall Monday

As of today, we have heat in the house again! The new furnace was installed this morning and the house is warm. Hopefully that will mean time at the sewing machine again.

One day last week, I huddled the two electric space heaters around my sewing area and played with some scrap fabrics. I made random blocks out of the straight scraps.

Here are the twelve I made, each one is approximately 6" square. I have no idea what I will do with them yet.

No Christmas Stars were made this week. But on Sunday I sewed up half-square triangles, took them along to the Superbowl party where I pressed and then trimmed them down to size.
I should be able to assemble the stars pretty quickly this week, now that it is warm in the house again!
